Junior Academy at Golf Rossendale is expanding

The Junior Academy currently has more than 50 members, and with children on the waiting list the range decided to launch extra sessions. There are now places available on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings for children aged 5-15 wanting to learn golf or improve their game.Youngsters learn golf in small groups under the watchful eyes of Golf Rossendale’s PGA Pros and Level 1 coaches. The Academy follows the highly-acclaimed Golf Foundation Junior Jason Day Purposely Distressed Casey Passport scheme to help youngsters learn all aspects of both the long and short game as well as golf’s rules and etiquette.Golf Rossendale managing director Scott Grundy said: “We have been really pleased with the success of our Junior Academy so far. Golf has previously been seen as an elitist sport, but through our Academy programme we are helping to introduce lots of children to the sport who would otherwise never have picked up a golf club.“We are also taking golf into schools with our Tri-Golf programme to introduce youngsters to golf through fun games.”
